  • Advised IDB Invest, BNDES, Underwritersand other lenders and LC Providers in the financings of Águas do Rio, as part of a senior multi-tranche, multi-instrument financing structure in the approximate amount of BRL 26 billion — recognized at the time as the largest project finance transaction in Brazil and awarded across multiple fronts (LatinFinance, IJGlobal, Environmental Finance and Bonds & Loans).
  • Advised Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in the USD 140 million financing of Ambiental MS Pantanal (Aegea) (PPP Deal of the Year – Latin America, IJ Global).
  • Advised Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, as global coordinator, and BofA Securities, Bradesco BBI, Itaú BBA and Santander (Brasil), as joint bookrunners, in the international public offering of USD 600 million senior secured notes issued by Açu Petróleo Luxembourg (currently of the Vast Infraestrutura group), structured as a project finance transaction.
  • Advised IDB Invest, BNDES and Underwritersin the financing transactions of Manaus Ambiental (Aegea Group), in aggregate project finance transactions of approximately BRL 2.25 billion, with shared collateral, comprising a BNDES loan, an IDB Invest loan and a debenture issuance, to support the water and sewage concession in Manaus.
  • Advised ArcelorMittal Brasil and ArcelorMittal, as sponsors and guarantors, in the BRL 3.16 billion long-term BNDESfinancing granted to Ventos de Santo Antônio Comercializadora de Energia S.A., a self-production joint venture with Casa dos Ventos, for the implementation of the Babilônia Centro Wind Complex in Bahia (Loan of the Year – LatinFinance).

Marco Saliba has extensive experience in project financing. He has over 17 years of experience in project finance and infrastructure, including local and cross-border structured finance transactions. He has worked at major law firms and was a foreign associate at Mori, Hamada and Matsumoto, in Tokyo.
