Advised Companhia Paranaense de Energia - Copel on its privatization process, which took place through a public offering of shares (follow-on), which raised approximately BRL 5.2 billion, and through which the State of Paraná reduced its stake in the company's share capital, transforming Copel into a company with dispersed capital and no controlling shareholder, allowing the renewal of hydroelectric power generation concessions for another 30 years.


Advised Auren Energia on the business combination with AES Brasil Energia, worth approximately BRL 7 billion, covering the legal and regulatory aspects of hydroelectric, wind and photovoltaic power generation assets, which transformed Auren Energia into the 3rd largest power generator in Brazil.

Advised clients on the structuring of electricity self-production projects, in particular (i) the Mataripe Refinery, which involved a sophisticated corporate structure and the signing of a PPA linked to foreign currency, and (ii) Minerva Foods.


Advised Equatorial Energia on the privatization processes that culminated in the acquisition of electricity distribution concessionaires CEEE-D and CEA, as well as on legal and regulatory aspects within the scope of ANEEL Public Consultation No. 27/2024 regarding the extension of electricity distribution concessions.


Advised the Cymi do Brasil Group in legal proceedings and in administrative proceedings before ANEEL for recognition of an exclusion from liability and economic and financial rebalancing of the electricity transmission concession contract.

EDUCATION

Frederico is recognized for his work in the electricity sector, especially in aspects of public and regulatory law, working in the most diverse aspects of the electricity distribution, transmission, generation, distributed generation and commercialization segments.


He is also known for his representation of clients in the most diverse proceedings in relation to the sector's institutions (MME, ANEEL, CCEE and ONS), administrative and judicial litigation and arbitration and in all stages of structuring energy projects, including drafting and negotiating complex contracts, structuring self-production projects and advising on participation in auctions and privatization projects and M&A operations.


Frederico is a member of the Comissão Especial de Energia Elétrica – CEELE of OAB/RJ and is a guest lecturer on the Curso de Direito de Energia Elétrica da Escola Superior do Instituto dos Advogados Brasileiros - ESIAB and on the Curso de Especialização em Direito Contratual: Contratos de Energia da PUC/SP.


He has been working in the electricity sector for over 12 years, having worked as the Regulatory Legal Coordinator for the Grupo Energisa, when he was a board member of the Associação Brasileira de Companhias de Energia Elétrica ABCE and a member of the Comitê Jurídico e do Comitê de Relações Institucionais da Associação Brasileira de Distribuidores de Energia Elétrica – ABRADEE.
