STJ ratifies propter rem nature of environmental obligations

In the judgment of Repetitive Topic 1,204, the STJ confirmed the understanding that environmental obligations have a propter rem nature, with the exception of exemption for the alienator whose real right has ceased before the damage was caused, as long as he has not directly contributed or indirectly to harm.
