STF determines that the state of São Paulo reapply the restrictions of federal law nº 5,709/1971 on the acquisitions of rural properties by Brazilian companies with foreign capital.

Since August 2010, acquisitions of rural properties by Brazilian legal entities whose

share capital is mostly composed of foreign individuals or legal entities has

generated a lot of controversy and discussions in the administrative and judicial spheres.
