By means of the Provisional Measure No. 936, published on April 1st, 2020 (“PM 936”), the Brazilian Federal Government establishes several labor measures to face new challenges related to the state of public calamity resulted from the pandemic period related to COVID-19, stating (i) the payment of Emergency Benefit to Guarantee Job Positions and Income, sponsored by the Government; (ii) proportional salary and working hours reduction; and (iii) possibility of temporary suspension of employment agreements.
