Marco Aurelio Rabenhorst Saliba

Marco Saliba has extensive experience in project financing. He has over 12 years of experience in project finance and infrastructure, including local and cross-border structured finance operations.

Marco has worked at major law firms and companies and was a foreign associate at Mori, Hamada and Matsumoto, in Tokyo.


  • Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP).

  • Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.) in International Legal Practice from IE Law School in Madrid with participation in Nus-National University of Singapore.

  • advised Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, as global coordinator, and BofA Securities, Bradesco BBI, Itaú BBA and Santander (Brasil), as joint bookrunners, in the international public offering of senior secured notes by Açu Petróleo Luxembourg, structured as a project finance, in the amount of USD 600 million.

  • advised Banco Bradesco, Banco do Brasil, Banco Votorantim and Banco Sumitomo Mitsui Brasileiro in the scope of structuring bank guarantees for financing, in the project finance modality, in the amount of R$2 billion granted by BNDES for the UTE Marlim Azul I project (Awarded LNG-to-power Deal of the Year by IJ Global).

  • advised Banco ABC Brasil and ING Bank, in a cross-border long-term financing transaction involving the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in the total amount of R$450 million, for the expansion of the Port of Itapoá, in Santa Catarina. Catarina (awarded Latin Finance Port Financing of the Year by Latin Finance).

  • advised Banco do Brasil, Itaú Unibanco and Banco da Amazônia in a long-term financing, in the amount of R$950 million, for the transshipment and river logistics project operated by subsidiaries of Hidrovias do Brasil S.A. (Awarded Latin American Ports Deal of the Year by IJGlobal)

  • advised Total Eren, Echoenergia and Proton Energy (invested by funds managed by Prisma Capital, currently integrated into Matrix Energia) in a total of 20 project finance operations, including public offerings of debentures, structuring of bank guarantees and contracts of funding.
