Bernardo Kruel De Souza Lima

Bernardo focuses his practice on matters related to the financial and capital markets, notably with financial regulation, in the structuring of investment funds and fintechs.

Has experience in represent financial institutions, asset managers, fiduciary administrators, intermediaries and fintechs involving regulatory issues related with the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB), the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association (ANBIMA) and B3 S.A. – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão (B3).

He is consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and coordinator of the Fintechs Working Group within the LAB -Laboratory of Financial Innovation, organized by the IDB, CVM and ABDE.

He was for more than 3 years at ANBIMA, participating in the main debates and improvement of the regulation of the financial and capital markets.


  • Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B.) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). 

  • Masters in Laws Degree (LL.M.) from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).


Bernardo was recognized by Chambers Global among the best professionals in Investment Funds.


  • Advised Banco Itaú BBA and XP Investimentos in the structuring and first public offering (IPO) of Patria Infraestrutura Energia Core Equity Investment Fund in the amount of R$500 million.

  • Advised Banco BTG in the structuring and first public offering (IPO) of BTG Pactual InfraCo Master Multistrategy Equity Investment Fund in an amount exceeding R$15 billion.

  • Advised the syndicate of banks (BTG, Credit Suisse, Itaú BBA and Santander) in the structuring and first public offering (IPO) of Prisma Proton Energia Fundo de Investimento em Infraestrutura in the amount of R$ 470 million.
