Environmental, Carbon and Sustainable Finance and ESG Investments

Beatriz has worked in recent years in infrastructure projects, M&A, real estate acquisition and capital market operations - including those related to the structuring of carbon projects - conducting the legal assessment of socio-environmental risks and opportunities. Beatriz also works in the areas of dispute resolution and prevention, including both the preparation of memoranda and legal opinions on various topics involving environmental and climate law matters, as well as the representation of clients in administrative and judicial proceedings. In addition, Beatriz has experience in structuring Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) governance policies and systems in Brazilian companies.

Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B.) from de Direito da Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
Professional Master Degree in Sustainability at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).

EDUCATION

Advised Forbes & Manhattan Resources Inc. on the environmental legal front of the acquisition process of the Xisto Industrialization Unit (SIX) from Petrobras S.A;

Advised MUFG, Mizuho SMBC and NEXI within the scope of the restructuring and judicial recovery process filed by Samarco Mineração S.A., with emphasis on the analysis and monitoring of the environmental licensing process and environmental lawsuits involving the mining company;

Advised a relevant Brazilian organization in mapping the implications related to the enactment of Federal Decree n. 11.075/2022 to its sector, in particular with regard to the Sectoral Plans for Mitigating Climate Change;

Advised relevant Brazilian industry in structuring ESG governance policies and systems.
